On first days and things we can learn
September's journaling prompts for paid Mothership subscribers
This is the first paid mothership edition of Cold Coffee, where we journal through motherhood together.
I've included four prompts below. You can use them all at once, just use the ones that resonate and discard the ones that don't, fold your favourites into a weekly or monthly practice, or use one each week until I release more in the next paid mothership.
The back catalogue of journal prompts will always be available for paying readers, as will the monthly open chat thread where we talk about what the journal prompts brought up for us.
I’ve designed these prompts with mothers of babies and young children in mind, but I have also included modified questions that I hope will work for mothers of older children and adult offspring.
More on how I use journal prompts here.
I want you to see these prompts as an invitation, not an instruction, expansive, not constrictive, a doorway to your innermost thoughts, not a wall confining them.
They are here as a start.
Write what comes up. Write what is in your heart and on your mind.Â
Just write.
This post used to contain paywalled journaling prompts — I’m experimenting with a new model and you can get sixty prompts to write through motherhood here (for free). All I ask in return is to follow me on Instagram @zoepickburn and subscribe (also for free) on here — I’m currently working on building my platform to give my book proposal the best chance of success when it lands on agents’ desks, so every follow and subscribe really helps!
